Florida has been criticized this year for its soft non-conference schedule, losing both of its marquee games to Florida State and Ohio State. However, its run through the SEC schedule highlighted by a beatdown of Vanderbilt pushes the Gators to a 6-seed. Among other movers up were UConn with its road win over Indiana after a shaky start to its conference schedule, Mississippi State, who took care of their rival Ole Miss, and Purdue, who have run out to a 6-1 start in the Big Ten with its only loss to Michigan State by 3 points.
Three teams that looked good but had weak computer numbers suffered losses that hurt their seed tremendously or even knocked them out. Dayton has lost 3 straight with its last one against Richmond most troubling. They still have a RPI of 17 but suddenly need to win in a conference where 7 teams are fighting for 3-4 spots in the field. Arizona State has also lost 3 straight, including the last two at home against the Washington schools. They have been knocked out of the bracket as well as Villanova, with losses to Rutgers and Notre Dame.

Please explain how you have Ohio St. on the 9 line. I think they are waaay overvalued. Their 2 "big" wins are questionable at best. They beat Syracuse in the preseason NIT, but Syracuse lost quite a few bad games early. Then they beat an extremely overated Florida team at home. Other than that, they have nothing to show, they've their only 3 tough games in the Big Ten, and were losing to a terrible Michigan team at home for 37 mins and only won b/c Michigan choked. They have to at least be a last four in. I don't understand how this school gets rewarded for beating bad teams in both football and basketball. I would certainly take a team like MD or VT based simply on the fact that both teams lost their top guys from last year, had a shaky start, but have really gelled with their new guys and have made great runs in the ACC which proved that it trumps the Big Ten every single year. Your thoughts as to why this Buckeyes team is getting too much respect...Thanks
In my eyes, the Buckeyes started out as a middle-of-the-road tourney team (a 6/7 seed) and my thoughts haven't changed too much as the season progressed. Beating Florida is one thing (its non-conf. schedule sucked) but I think beating Syracuse was a good win. They lost to UMass and Rhode Island, which aren't bad losses and after that, the injury/suspension bug bit them. As Ohio State's conf. play started, they haven't taken any bad losses. That Iowa loss washed out the Penn State win. Long story short, the Buckeyes aren't as good as I thought in the preseason, but for now, they're still in the tournament at a 9/10 seed.
